Film Screening: “The Empowerment Project” (2015)
Wednesday, April 8th | Flom Auditorium | 6-8 PM
The Women’s Studies Department is sponsoring a screening of the documentary The Empowerment Project. The documentary features 17 ordinary women doing extraordinary things and was filmed by an all-female crew. Because the crew was so moved by their encounters with these women, they decided to turn the camera on themselves and simultaneously document their reactions to these women and show how this process brought them together in friendship. You can watch the trailer and find out more info on the documentary here!
A huge part of the event will be a panel discussion following the film featuring a handful of Fordham professors from a variety of disciplines. To embody the message of the film, the event will highlight the extraordinary lives of these professors as they discuss what they’ve learned throughout their lives and throughout their careers.
