Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Maurice Possley has been recognized for his investigative reporting on criminal justice. Over his 25 year career at the Chicago Tribune, he investigated numerous cases of wrongful convictions and wrongful executions. In 2009, he joined the Northern California Innocence Project to research and co-author a ground-breaking report on prosecutorial misconduct in California. His most recent book, “Conviction at Any Cost: Prosecutorial Misconduct and the Pursuit of Michael Segal,” tells a story of how truth is manipulated in a federal prosecution of a corporate executive. Possley will discuss his work and experience as a journalist investigating the criminal process, his insights into its deficiencies, and his thoughts about reform.
